Traditional Clothes Day On Thursday March 10th, MQS celebrated Traditional Clothes Day. The PYP and MYP students gathered in the foyer and gym hall to dance together in their traditional clothes representing thier various villages.
PYP Visits Ankawa Museum On Monday February 28th, PYP 2 visited the Syriac heritage museum in Ankawa. Students were exposed to a diversity of cultures, traditions, ideas and time periods. This experience has imparted in students a greater appreciation and understanding of our cultures and traditions.
PYP Visits Erbil's Zoo On February 22nd, the PYP visited the Erbil Zoo to learn more about their current Science unit about living and growing, and the life cycles of different beings. Students had a great time discovering more about different wild animals, their offspring, and their habitats.
PYP4 Visits Park Sami On Februrary 14, PYP 4 students visited Park Sami Abd-Alrahman to have an adventurous Math summative assessment. Students drew the shapes of things they found around the playground, and took measurements. Later when they arrived back at MQS, students found the area and parameter of their shapes. ...
PYP Art Exhibition!!! On February 9, students in the PYP had an Art Exhibition. They showcased different types of artwork such as optical illusions, pop art, nature art, abstract art, and celebration art.
Space Exploration Exhibition! On November 17th and 24th, the PYP 3 students had a Space Exploration Exhibition. Parents were invited to the Exhibition to learn about astronauts, the solar system, the phases of the moon, space travel, and the international space station.

MQS Students Visit the Citadel On November 18, PYP 4 students visited the Citadel in Erbil, possibly the oldest, continuously inhabited settlements in the world. Students inquired about the history of this ancient settlement, and about artifacts that displayed and exhibited in the museum.
